We are committed to creating a sustainable and environmentally friendly methodology for the future of our planet. Like all aspects of modern veterinary practice, we are consistently refining and developing our products, practices and company operations to ensure that we adhere to the highest possible standards of environmental sustainability. Over the years we have undertaken a robust and holistic review of our practices as well as veterinary anaesthesia as a whole. We are proud to share several of our initiatives below in line with our ongoing mission and commitment to building a better future for the planet and for the veterinary industry as a whole. We are passionate about this challenge and we continue to invest significant effort into our sustainability initiatives.
All of our operations in our Sydney Office, workshop and warehouse are powered by Red Energy. We utilise 100% sustainable, renewable clean energy generated by the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric Scheme.
Utilising renewable energy is just one facet of our holistic approach to practicing environmentally aware and sustainable veterinary anaesthesia but we believe it represents our commitment to building a better future.
Only Darvall. By Vets For Veterinary Use.
Darvall's DVM Vaporiser
Unique, highly accurate and reliable at very low gas flows down to 200ml/ minute. Facilitates cost effective, environmentally responsible anaesthesia, even for very
small patients.
Darvall's Stingray Absorber
Darvall's Stinger Ultra
Only Darvall's patient warming solutions can Reduce CO, emissions from 1.5 to 0.75t per year.
Darvall's multimodal Cozy™ warming maximises efficiency and patient safety
Only Darvall's unique range of specialised engineered Cozy warm air blankets combined with Cozy heated circuits safely and efficiently warm veterinary patients at every stage from pre-warming to surgery and right through to recovery. Pre-warming in only 40 minutes takes half the time of recovery re-warming. Darvall's
heated breathing circuits prevent critical post-induction heat loss and when combined with our unique low flow anaesthesia capability down to 200ml/min further reduces the risk of hypothermia in surgery.
Warmer patients recover faster, safely and efficiently with improved surgical outcomes.
Blanket Technology Matters
Poorly designed blankets having excessive leakage, narrow pillows with turbulent gas flow or that don't contact the animal are ineffective.
Cloth blankets that poorly inflate ..... "limp", have excessive material porosity so most of the warm air flow is lost directly at the blanket inlet so heat is not transferred to the animal.
The Real Environmental Cost - One warm air heater using ineffective cloth or PPE blankets that doesn't effectively warm animals irresponsibly generates almost the same yearly CO emissions as a Toyota Landcruiser 76S going 10,000km!
Darvall's multimodal patient warming halves the CO₂ emissions
